The cover picture of our recent work depicts how lipid-coated metal-organic framework (MOF) nanoparticles destroy cancerous cells. Depending on the external pH, endocytosis leads to a programmed cell death termed pyroptosis that eads to cellular membrane rupture and involves the activation of the immune system.
