Dr. Alvaro Crevenna

Research project

My main goal is to understand the assembly and functional dynamics of multi-subunit protein complexes; as isolated proteins and in reconstituted in vitro systems. Currently, I'm working towards understanding the biophysics of actin filament nucleation. I am using single molecule techniques (FCS, smFRET and TIRF) to study the dynamics and structure of actin/actin-nucleator complexes. I complement these studies with molecular dynamics and theoretical approaches.
