Andreas Baumann was born in Ebersberg (Germany) in 1988. He studied chemistry at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University (Munich, Germany) and received his master degree under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Hoffmann-Röder. After an internship at Merck Serono (Darmstadt, Germany) he joined the group of Prof. Dr. Hoffmann-Röder as a PhD student in 2014.
