The LMU's Gene Center combines interdisciplinary research and teaching in
pivotal areas of modern biology. The goal of its research is to achieve mechanistic
insight into cell functions and organisms in normal and in pathological conditions.
With gene regulation as its concentration, this area of research includes
structural biology, molecular cell biology, genetics, developmental biology
and virology. The most modern techniques and model organisms are employed
to unravel molecular mechanisms in fundamental biological processes.
